Shea Wilson for
Seattle District 6
SHEA FOR CHANGE
We’ve had enough performance art politics.
Dan Strauss is the problem.
My wife Colleen and I have lived in the same house in the Sunset Hill neighborhood of Ballard for more than 30 years. It has been a great place to live and raise our two kids. But the last few years have seen changes in Ballard—and all around District 6—that are not for the better.
Dan Strauss has failed this District. That’s why I am running for City Council: to make our district and city a place that works for everybody.

SHEA'S TOP ISSUES
Keeping everyone safe is job one. Calls to de-fund the police were irresponsible. The result is Seattle is less safe. I support hiring more police officers who are dedicated to serving and protecting everyone in the communities they serve. We need ongoing training for all our officers to de-escalate confrontational situations.
Housing is a fundamental human need. People should not have to camp on our streets and in our parks. Dan Strauss has done nothing to solve the problem. I believe we need to identify people based on their needs and have an organized plan to find housing.
We need a city dedicated to ensuring everyone feels welcome and included. Some communities have been marginalized and felt unwelcome by our legal system. We must improve relationships between our police and the community they serve with better training and best practices.
Our water and sewer mains have been neglected for years. The Ballard, Fremont, and Magnolia Bridges are important to our
neighborhoods, and they have been neglected too. We cannot just talk about infrastructure improvements for 30 years as we have done on the final link of the Burke-Gilman trail. We
We need to expand transit and improve its reliability. We also need to incorporate more pedestrian-friendly spaces for people using transit.
